What is point object or a point particle in physics ? - Param Himalaya

Point Object : An object is said to be a point object or a particle if it's size or dimensions ( i.e length , breadth , thickness etc.) are negligible as compared to the distance travelled by it.

Example :
(i) An aeroplane which flies from Delhi to London
(ii) A train moving over long distances ( say hundreds of kilometres).
(iii) A shell fired by a gun.
(iv) Earth moving around the sun .
